Join SU President, Gail Martin and guest Charles Sutton, Bishop’s Chaplain for Clergy Care and Wellness at The Anglican Diocese in New England, as they a new week’s readings in Ephesians and Acts.
Charles Sutton is the oldest of 7 children, and the son of a career Air Force officer. He lived in eight states and attended ten schools before graduation from high school. Charles holds degrees from the University of Virginia (BA in psychology), Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary (MA in Theological Studies), and Virginia Theological Seminary (MDiv) and has served four Episcopal parishes, two as assistant and two as Rector for a total of 27 years. He met his wife, Mary at Gordon-Conwell and they were married in 1975. They have two children and seven grandchildren. Charles retired from the Episcopal Church in 2009 and later transferred to the Anglican Church in North America. He now serves as a chaplain to clergy (along with two other clergy) in the Anglican Diocese in New England, assisting the bishop in his role as pastor to pastors. He also does spiritual direction and leads small group inductive Bible studies. (And by now, has lived in 13 states and have attended 15 schools, from kindergarten up to his MDiv.)
