PrimeTime® After-School Program
The PrimeTime® curriculum was developed jointly by Scripture Union and The Salvation Army. The Big Story represents Year One of the curriculum. Themes for Year Two and Year Three are Following Jesus and Heroes of the Faith.
About the PrimeTime® Program
PrimeTime® offers churches and other organizations an effective tool for sharing God’s love and God’s word with children who would otherwise be alone and unsupervised during the after school hours. The PrimeTime® program features a 40-week curriculum (paralleling the school year) that combines creative Bible teaching and fun activities with tutoring and homework help you may already be providing. The program can be conducted either daily or weekly.
PrimeTime® provides a time and space for children to build relationships with adults and peers as they explore who God is and how to follow Jesus. The program has a variety of suggested games, crafts, or activities that can be adjusted for the needs of your community. Volunteers who use PrimeTime® are amazed at how easy the program is to implement without being watered down.
How to Start a PrimeTime® Program
The PrimeTime® Start-Up Manual contains all you need to plan and organize your PrimeTime® faith-based after-school program. This How-to Guide covers the key elements of an effective PrimeTime® after school program including identifying a site, finding and training volunteers, a detailed daily schedule, plus a special section on helping children follow Jesus.
