As the world struggles to combat the coronavirus (Covid-19), Scripture Union is uniting in prayer and support for all those who are affected.
Our International Director, Monika Kuschmierz writes, “The apostle Paul reminds us: "For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love and self-discipline". This is an encouraging word in times of global crisis and anxiety… Let us be creative in our approaches if we are prevented from meeting face to face. Pray for the people and communities that are affected by the virus… Let us stand in this together. Let us be salt and light in anxious times. Let us be servants to a world in need and let us be inspired by the Spirit that gives us power, love and self-discipline.”
Here are some practical tools to help as we pray and respond to God’s Word in times like these.
We are saddened to share that beloved SU Board Member, Beverly Cook, lost her battle with cancer on March 31, 2020. She had recently served as both Board Secretary and as the Chair of the Presidential Search Team. She led an extensive search process for our newly named President which was completed just prior to her illness. For six years, she was an integral part of the SU Northeast Region Council. The entire staff and Board mourn her loss, remembering her as a powerful prayer warrior, and a kind and sweet-spirited servant whose wisdom and faith served our organization well. Read more.
