Siblings in Faith
Opening Prayer
Gracious Father, I want to learn of Your heart and move in rhythm with You so that the world might know Your love.
Read Titus 1:1-4
[1] Paul, a servant of God and an apostle of Jesus Christ to further the faith of God’s elect and their knowledge of the truth that leads to godliness- [2] in the hope of eternal life, which God, who does not lie, promised before the beginning of time, [3] and which now at his appointed season he has brought to light through the preaching entrusted to me by the command of God our Savior, [4] To Titus, my true son in our common faith: Grace and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Savior. Reflect
Is there anyone you would call a "son" or "father" in the faith?Like Paul’s letters to Timothy, Titus, shares the theme, of standing for truth in the midst of false teaching. Titus is a Gentile Christian who has worked and traveled with Paul (Gal. 2:1-3) and who is now in Crete to oversee the church there.Paul begins by reminding Titus that, like Timothy, he is “my true son in our common faith” (4; 2 Tim. 1:2). This faith trusts God’s promise that there is eternity ahead. This world is not all that exists (2). It is also founded in a truth that changes us, that makes us more like Jesus (1). Through preaching, this faith is revealed (3). To a church wrestling with false teaching, this is a profound reminder. How about you? In a world that defines truth as what is true for you, do you realize that you are connected to brothers and sisters who share the same faith in Christ? We are all siblings “in our common faith” as we cling to the truth of the Good News, as we are changed to be more like Jesus and as we wait in expectation of spending eternity with him!

Consider the “family” connection we have with those who believe. Write about what this practically means in your life.
Closing prayer
Lord, You have come that we might be restored to You and to one another. Teach us to live as the family of God.
